Perishable foodstuffs, in addition to the general rules on the transport of goods, are covered in particular by an agreement on "international transport" and special vehicles adapted for this purpose. A technical-health regulation determines the way in which food is transported, and another, the specifications to be met by special vehicles for land transport at regulated temperature and the control procedures necessary to ensure their safety.
